Tiny Titans #22

Hey Plastic Man fans! Get issue #22 of Tiny Titans. It is centered around Plastic Man, his son Offspring, Elongated Man and Elastic Lad. Haven't had time to read it but from flipping through it they seem to handle Elasatic Lad like he is Elongated Man's son. Of course we all know it is Jimmy Olsen. Also there is a great pin-up of the Elastic Four at the end of the book.

Justice League of America #36

I stopped reading JLA a long time ago. To me this team has had nothing but shabby treatment since the 1980's. The 60's and 70's this team had a stellar record and good sales. Then DC decided to shake things up in the 80's and we got the debacle that was Justice League Detroit. It has been downhill ever since with only brief moments where they shined. I loved it when they introduced some houmor and that worked for awhile as was evidenced by the Justice League spin offs at that time. Since then it was downhill again. For me the only times I liked was when Black Lightning and Plastic Man were finally made members. The last time I picked up an issue neither one was a member of the team. In that issue Plas seemed ot only show up as he was on call. I thought that was the only time Plas would be in the group for a while. A few days ago I picked up an issue as I saw Plas on the cover. To my surprise he has been in the book ever since. I went through the back issues and could only go back to JLA #36. It was actually a good issue for me to start back on as a JLA reader. It is the second of a 3 part story. The Royal Flush gang has grown into a massive group that goes thorughout the country. The JLA arrive and Plas takes a shape to blow away the smoke from the smoke bombs. Without meaning to Red Tornado be littles Plas by telling him he doesn't need his help. Wonder Woman uses her lasso of truth to find out what they are up to but the members are killed by Amos Fortune by remote control. He has a game going on with Roulette who is pitting the JLA against the Royal Flush Gang. Amos tells of how he got into a life of crime. He became obsessed with his Dad's playing cards. He was poor and it was all he had of his Dad's. He hired some bullies at school to help him as he used card games to get his schoolmates lunch money. Eventually they joined the mafia and later started the Royal Flush gang. Recently they started getting new members to go around and start ganga in every major city in the country.
Meanwhile back at JLA headquarters they are alerted to three places that one arm of the Royal Flush gangs are striking. Vixen divides the team. Wonder Woman and Red Tornado are to save the Museum. Vixen and Firestorm head to the Electronics Show. Plastic Man and Dr. Light go to save Stellar Studios. As usual Dr. Light hates being teamed up with Plas and request a new member. Vixen reminds her the JLA isn't a dating program. Go where you're needed or go home. YEA VIXEN! Dr. Light needs to lighten up. Plastic Man has been at the superhero business longer then she has. With the exception of the new Firestorm they all have. Pay attention to Plas Light and you may learn something.
Of course I believe Dr. Light is a double agent and may be afraid that he will catch on. Young Firestorm may not if he is teamed up with her more often. Of course if they leave her on her own that would be even better for her.
Anyway with that they are all off to save the day. This is where the issue ends. I will pick up with next issue later.
I just noticed something odd about this cover. Superman is on it and he didn't appear anywhere in the story.

Plastic Watch

Haven't had time to read it but got Justice League of America #38. I haven't regularly read the book in a long time but that may change as Mark Bagley and James Robinson are the new creative team on the book. In this issue Plastic Man appears and that is another plus. Not saying I will but I may become a regular reader again.

Fan art Adventure Comics Cover

Over at Rob's Aquaman site he did a poll to see how fans would like to see Aquaman return. Most said in his own book. Rob's own choice was to see him return as the lead in Adventure comics. Here is how he thought one of the covers should look like. Thanks Rob for picking Plas as his back up. Personally I would prefer Plas as lead but with Aquaman in the book more fans would read because of him.
I may hold a poll like that here for Plas. Look for it someday.

Here is the opening of Plastic Man's Comedy/Adventure Show. I believe the language is Spanish. Also the show comes out on DVD on the 20th. If our contest winner is reading this your copy should be on its way.
*****A reader of this blog,Marcos, informs me that the language in the video is Portuguese and that this show was very popular in Brazil in the 80's. Thanks Marcos.*****

A Word, Actually More Then One, From Stephen Skeates

Writer Steve Skeates is a facebook friend of mine. I told him about this site and he gave me his permission to share what he thought about the site and this story with you about how good a friend Steve Gerber was to him.
"Hey, fun stuff! And great to find out a DVD of the TV show is on its way! From what I understand, Steve Gerber wrote an episode featuring my character Carrot-Man! Steve wanted to give me credit, but was unable to do so in the usual fashion, so he gave Carrot-Man my name!"
Also I reposted the above picture of the Aquaman Chronicles as I commented last time that Plas and Hawk and Dove were three of my favorites on this cover. Steve asked isn't there a fourth on the cover that I like? You are right Steve. You are another favorite character of mine on the cover. I always like hearing from you on facebook.

A Tip of the Goggles

Here is a Plastic Man Platitudes tip of the goggles to Superman's Pal David. No not Jimmy Olsen. It is David of Supermanfan.net. David gave me some much needed info that allows you to read these words on this site. He suggested that I change the background to black. Normally I don't like black backgrounds but since it was one of the colors on Plas' uniform I didn't have a problem with it. Thanks again David. Tell Supes Plas and I said hello when you see him.

New background

Just as I have done with my other sites Let's Rap With Cap, For God So Loved and Mail It To Team-Up I have changed the background to this site. I have done all I can think of to make it easy to read but it doesn't look very good to me. I don't want to lighten the entire background. Just the part where you have to read. I wish I could figure out the html that is on the one I used when I found the one currently on Mail It To Team-Up. If I can figure this out it may be the best looking of the lot.

Plastic Man Fan Art

I saw this Plastic Man fan art while surfing the net. Plas seems trapped inside the moniter.

John Byrne's Plastic Man

Just saw this sketch at Byrne Robotics. I know it's just a sketch but it looks so good I think DC should ask John Byrne to do a Plastic Man series. He is one of the few artist that I think can write. So I would love to see him write and draw the series.

Plastic Man Seen in Canada

If you are a fan of Plastic Man and live in Canada then you are in luck. In the USA the DVD isn't released till October 20th even though it was to be here on Sept. 1st. In Canada, according to TV shows on DVD.com, it is in stores now. No reason is given for the early, or is it on time, release date in Canada.

Double Celebration

We are having a double celebration today as it is my birthday and the second anniversary of my site Mail It To Team Up. Come on in and have a good time. Luke of El Jacone's Comic Book Bunker and Being Carter Hall is taking the coats and hats. Passing out the soft drinks is Brian of Comics in Crisis. Taking care of the tunes is Kent of Forgotten Hits. "Hey Kent! Make sure you play some Monkees songs." Taking care of the grill is Robby Reed of Dial B For Blog and right now he is talking to Adama of Dispatches From The Arrowcave and Paul of Comicbook World. Rob is making like Aquaman out back in the pool. In the family room Marty of the Ephemera site is watching some old movies. Out by the garage John of Pop Culture Safari is tossing horse shoes with David of Superman Fan.Net, Protos of Superhero CD and Jon of Random Acts of Geekery. Well here comes my wife with the cake. So everyone have a piece and enjoy yourself. Here is to another year of blogging fun.

Plastic Man Almost in Wednesday Comics

Thanks to P.A.L. member David of Supermanfan.net I was made aware of this Plastic Man panel on Comic Book Resources. It seems that for the Wednesday Comics Plas was a back up in case someone missed the deadine. Maybe he will be in the one for next year.

Plastic Man DVD Update

If you are looking forward to the release of the Plastic Man series on DVD then I have bad news. You will have to wait a little bit longer. It was suppose to come out in early September. However, with no reason given, it won't be released until October 20th. Well it will still be in time to get family members and friends as a Christmas gift.

Crisis on Earth-Blog: Super Powers 25th Anniversary

Well there is another Crisis on Earth Blog and being that I am a Plastic Man fan was asked to take part. I was all set to do so. However, at the time this was asked of me things were abit up in the air around my house. Also, I have never read the Super Powers series. Aside from an action figure I was told Plas was never in the mini-series. Even his action figure didn't have one of the mini comic books that the others came with. So I didn't know what to write about it. So I bowed out of the project. Still I want to provide links to those who stayed with the project. They are as follows:
Aquaman Shrine
Bat-Blog
Being Carter Hall
Crimson Lightning
Dispatches From the Arrow Cave
Doom Patrol
Firestorm Fan
Fortress of Baileytude
Idol-Head of Diabolu
Justice League Detroit
Love Dat Joker
...nurgh...
Once Upon A Geek
Speed Force
Good luck in this endevor guys. I know that one of the slogans of Crisis on Earth-Blog is "Blogs will live. Blogs will die." Don't think that my blogs have died. If you do another one I would like to be considered to participate.

Need New space

Does anyone know a site where I can store my photos? Blogger tells me I am close to the limit so I switched to photobucket. Now they are telling me the same. Both sites suggest that I pay for an upgrade but I can't afford that. Does anyone know of a site that gives unlimited space? If not I may have to stop blogging or cut back on all of my blogs.

Brave and the Bold Action League with Plastic Man and Blue Beetle

Maybe I have been sleeping at the keyboard but this is the first time I have seen this item for sale. You can get it at Amzon if you click here. I have been looing for things like this in the department stores but have never seen it there.

The Aquaman Chronicles

I was just over at The Aquaman Shrine where Rob had posted the cover to the fanzine the Aquaman Chronicles. I noticed that on the cover of this one, dedicated to writer Steve Skeates, that Plas was on the cover along with another favorite of mine. The brother team of the Hawk and the Dove. With all three on the cover I had to post it here for you to see if you don't read The Aquaman Shrine.

Woozy Winks' Cover of the Week: All Star Squadron #31

Photobucket

Plas was a member of the All Star Squadron before he was a JLA member. He was also a liaison with the Freedom Fighters. For someone who it seemed no group wanted he became a joiner of most of the DC groups.
